The full process

Each piece is uniquely created. The full process an item goes through takes around a month. The journey starts with a lump of clay that is sculpted into a form. From then the clay must dry for a few days. After the piece has reached the bone dry stage it can be loaded into the kiln to be bisque fired up to 1888 degrees F. Then the piece is cooled for many hours before I can begin to apply a variety of colorful glazes. After the work is glazed it goes In for another 8ish hour firing to 2200 degrees. After the piece has cooled it is "done" and ready for me to sand off any imperfections and smooth the bottom. If I choose to add gold to the item it undergoes another firing called a luster fire.
The item is then carefully packaged and sent to a new home!
